This guy was on the tippy top of

our bedbroom window on the second floor.

The first praying mantis I've seen this year.

I have also spotted a Pileated Woodpecker several

times in the last two weeks.  My goal is to get

a picture.  Oh I love them!!

Snow White To the Rescue

This little American Goldfinch flew into the window today

so off I went to rescue it. It looked

a little stunned but not too bad. As

I held it , it clung to my hand, then

flew off and hit the window again.

OH NO

I picked it back up, pet it & talked softly

and just tried to warm it up by

cuddling it next to me.

After about

5 minutes..it cheeped and flew out to land

amongst the trees of bright color.

Made my day to be so loving to a bird

and watch it fly off in perfect flight

God made me smile today!!

The Little Things In Life are a Blessing

It's the small things that make me glad to be alive.

The colors of the leaves..a soft breeze on a sunny day..seeing a bat

fly at dusk, speeding down the road with the radio blaring....

all the little things God gave us to enjoy ..

Stop and smell the leaves..the breeze and think how lucky we are

to be in this world ..enjoy your family and loved ones..they matter

most..LOVE is the greatest thing we have.

A Perfect Autumn Day

A Bald Face Hornet's Nest, I only observed, didn't try to

get it down from the tree

The look like paper , the hornet's eat wood to make the nest.

I love this old shed.

Even the leaves on the roadside are a work of art.

It was a perfect day for a walk up the Singing Woods Road.

We're Back & It's Autumn

It's cool & wet here today.

I love all the colors of Autumn.

Wings and Things

I've not posted for a while, things are good here and the summer has been mostly mild

I did see a Pileated Woodpecker last week but I did not have my camera outside..and I didn't want to TRY to get it and miss my sighting.

I was so excited.

Hollyhocks..I didn't get many blooms this year.

one eating the BIG pepper we had.
